About Gillian Key, Dip ION Dip AET TFTDx mBANT BCMAreg BTFTA
I first trained as a Home Economist, and after a career in the Catering and Hotel trade, I studied
for three years at the Institute for Optimum Nutrition (ION) and obtained my Diploma in Nutritional Therapy. I have also trained as an Allergy specialist with the British Institute for Allergy and Environmental Therapy and Callahan techniques Thought Field Therapy (similar to Emotional Freedom Technique). I have worked as a tutor at ION for several years.
Many years of experience working with food, combined with a busy family life enables me to advise my clients how to get the best from food in order to help restore their health. As well as private consultations, I also run Nutrition Workshops and give talks about Nutrition.
Continuous Professional Development and updates from the Nutritional and complementary medicine journals ensure I keep up to date with the latest research and developments. I am a member of, and regional co-ordinator for, the British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy (BANT) and registered with the British Complementary Medicine Association (BCMA reg) and the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC). I am also a member of the NHS Directory of Complementary and Alternative Practitioners and a Foresight practitioner. I work with Shape Fitness to promote healthy eating and with ICE, Inspiring, Challenging, Educating.
I am often asked to speak on BBC Radio Nottingham offering help and advice to their listeners on topical nutritional issues.
