Method of Testing
The method of allergy testing used by most members of the Institute is Applied Kinesiology. This form of testing is very accurate and entails muscle testing using the energy flows of the acupuncture meridians. Although we are using meridians, we do not use needles, therefore the experience is pleasant and painless, making it very useful for testing babies, children and people of a nervous disposition. Skin scratch and blood tests are unpleasant and in the case of skin scratch tests only 40% accurate. Blood tests are expensive and most hospitals will only test up to 5 substances because of the expense involved.
Another great advantage of using this form of testing is that the patient immediately becomes aware of which foods and chemicals are causing difficulty and becomes involved in his/her own detection and desensitisation. No special diets are involved in the treatment so the patient will not have his life seriously disrupted.
Desensitising is achieved by the use of neohomoeopathic (isopathic) potencies of the offending substance. These are made by a Homoeopathic Pharmacist on the premises of the Institute and have natural enzymes that should normally be present in the body added to them to help the desensitisation to hold.
We hope that the patient will become involved in his/her own treatment all the way through and we find this helps to obtain maximum results.
Hay fever
Our method of desensitisation to grasses and pollens for patients who suffer from Hay fever is different from our other desensitisation procedures. Treatment for Hay fever is carried out over a period of two years. Patients experience some improvement the first year and are usually symptom free the second. Ideally treatment should begin at the end of January or the beginning of February each year, i.e. before the season begins.
