Candida

Candida Albicans is a yeast-like organism that normally resides in the large bowel, genital tract, mouth and throat and under normal conditions is compatible with good health. It is normally kept under control by good bacteria, your immune system and intestinal pH.  However when certain conditions prevail, the fine balance between this fungus, other yeast and "friendly" bacteria is disturbed, resulting in candida overgrowth.  If the condition is left untreated, it can become systematic, causing an array of symptoms.

The most common symptoms include bloating, abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhoea, thrush, bad breath, flatulence, food cravings, allergies, headaches, muscle and joint pain, sore throat, fatigue, vaginitis, skin problems, chemical sensitivities, depression, mood swings, memory loss, lack of concentration and a "spaced out" feeling.

Candida Antibody Test

This test looks for two types of antibody specific to Candida Albicans (IgG + IgA). A positive result indicates that the individual has had an immune reaction to Candida. This is a very sensitive and accurate means of measuring antibodies.
